Foreign Minister Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu received Indian Ambassador to Ethiopia and Representative to the African Union, Ambassador Anurag Srivastava on Wednesday.The two sides reiterated the need to strengthen bilateral relations and expand the level of economic cooperation between the two countries.Noting that Ethiopia and India have had long and historic ties, Dr. Workneh further underscored the importance of transforming the already strong relationship into a new high.The Minister took note of a growing bilateral cooperation between the two countries particularly in areas of education, trade, investment, capacity building, science and technology.In such score, he underlined the need to further expand the scope and depth of the cooperation in these and other sectors.Ambassador Anurag Srivastava on his part said Ethiopia and India have enjoyed long-standing relations and a broad spectrum of cooperation.He added that India attaches a greater deal of importance to its relation and cooperation with Ethiopia.Dr. Workneh wished the Ambassador a successful tenure in Addis Ababa and pledged all the necessary support in the effort to cultivate the best out of the Ethio-India relationship.Source: MoFA
